Hello book lovers, just in case you’re wondering, no we’re not in 2016 WHEN PEOPLE WERE ACTUALLY DOING THIS TAG. It just happens to be that I was cleaning my bookshelf today and I saw this book, and I remembered how angry it made me, so long story short, this tag was the best way to diss it. ( Wow I sound cruel.)
Disclaimer: Okay, I’m sorry in advance if any of these books are your absolute favorites, I know how it feels like when someone talks trash about them. I don’t mean to offend anyone, these are JUST my personal views, and also, I might be wrong about them. But nevertheless, I promise I’ll be gentle..orrr
Maybe not.
Just kidding.
1. An Over-Hyped book: Let’s start this off with a Zombie Apocalypse! Let’s say you’re in a bookstore, just browsing when BAM! ZOMBIE ATTACK. An announcement comes over the PA System saying that the military has discovered that the zombies’ only weakness is over-hyped books. What book that everyone else says is amazing but you really hated do you start chucking at the zombies knowing that it will count as an over-hyped book and successfully wipe them out?!
Honestly, this book was nothing but underwhelming and strange to me. I couldn’t connect to it at all, and I really don’t understand the hype surrounding it. The writing was wistful and nice but other than that…nothing. I read this book this summer break and even wrote a review, you can check it out here
A Sequel: Let’s say you’ve just left the salon with a SMASHING new haircut and BOOM: Torrential downpour. What sequel are you willing to use as an umbrella to protect yourself?
Easy peasy, the most disappointing book with an EVEN MORE DISAPPOINTING ENDING. Read this years ago, and it still makes me furious when I recall the incidents of this final installment of The Hunger Games. I remember being so thrilled to read Mockingjay, especially after I absolutely loved Catching Fire, but It was just… plain bad. The story felt lost. This could have been so much better.
A Classic: Let’s say you’re in a lecture and your English teacher is going on and on about how this classic changed the world, how it revolutionized literature and you get so sick of it that you chuck the classic right at his face because you know what? This classic is stupid and it’s worth detention just to show everyone how you feel! What Classic did you chuck?
I hate the book, I hate the characters. They are nothing but monstrous, egoistic and unlikable. There is nothing romantic about Heathcliff’s and Cathy’s relationship and the plot was crap. Also, I get pretty upset when people compare this book to the Great Gatsby because umm HELLOOO? THE GREAT GATSBY IS AMAZING. OKAY???
Your least favorite book of life!: Let’s say that you’re hanging out at the library when BAM global warming explodes and the world outside becomes a frozen wasteland. You’re trapped and your only chance for survival is to burn a book. What is the book you first run to, your least favorite book of all life, what book do you not fully regret lighting?
You can try and convince me that Wuthering Heights was a literary masterpiece and that there was a deeper plot woven beneath the shallow story and that I didn’t really understand the book but you CANNOT convince me that Veronika Decides to Die was NOT indeed, a very very very bad book with a really asinine message. It is the worst projection of mental health, and honestly, It’s a little creepy as well. Okay, okay, yeah Paulo Coelho is a great writer and philosophist and not everyone gets him. Fine, I don’t want to understand the philosophy of this crazy book with crazy characters.
Okay, I am done.
Hey!! Hope I didn’t offend anyone. I didn’t tag anyone because It’s a pretty old tag and I’m assuming everyone has already done it but if not, then I tag all you sweeties โค Have you read any of these books? Did you like them? Oh I’m in trouble If you did. Hope We can still stay frieeends. XD. Talk to me about your least favorite books below! I hope you have a very nice day!

Lol… I love this rant:)). I don’t fully agree with you – I really enjoyed Mockingjay and liked the ending and Wuthering Heights is one of my all-time favourite books. But I totally agree with your summing up of The Ocean at the End of the Lane – it went flying across the room when I came to that lame ending…
That said, wouldn’t it be dreadfully boring if we all loved the same books?
Ohh๐๐I hope you didn’t get offended ๐ ๐ Ahuh, yeah, the ocean at the end of the lane made no sense to me! And rightly said, it would be extremely boring if we all loved the same books! And I have this weird thing where I don’t like someone loving a specific book more than I do ๐๐๐ if that makes sense, haha. Xd
I have only read the first two: Mockingjay and Catching Fire and then I thought it was enough of it. They are not really my genre of reads but the first novel was starting to get a bit of hype after I read it so that I read the second too but enough is enough :-). I’m happy to see you share my opinion ;-). I did see the movies though so it’s not that I missed anything, right?
OMG THANK YOU! The Ocean at the End of the Lane is the absolute worst and I have no idea why people love it so much! Iโve carried this inside me for so long, gah!
I wouldnโt say the same about Wuthering Heights, though. Itโs one of my all-time favourites. And youโre right. Itโs not romantic at all. Thatโs what people miss out on. Iโm actually planning on writing a post roasting people who call Wuthering Heights romantic lol. ๐
Haha yess, the ocean at the end of the lane SUCKS. i felt so bad about disliking it because so many people did, but I’m happy to know people share the same feelings as me ๐น๐น Eee I’m sorry about dissing Wuthering Heights, it just didn’t work out for me. And yeaa it is so not a romantic book. You should write that roast post!! Looking forward to it ๐ป๐ป
Hahaha, love this tag! Honestly, I think we all need a rant every now and then or else our bottled up cynical feelings are going to make us explode. I was VERY underwhelmed by Mockingjay as well! Such a shame since I loved the first two books so much. Strangely enough, I did like the movies for it quite a bit.
