Hey guys, I hope you’re all doing well.
Unfortunately, I’m not. I don’t feel like reading very much, I haven’t even completed my Goodreads reading goal yet and It’s already the END OF NOVEMBER. OH, and what was my reading goal this year? 15. 15! How many I’ve read? 9.
It is truly frustrating. I’m in a reading slump and I am having a writer’s block. Also, exams are near the corner, and I’ve hardly studied. So yeah, I’m really having fun.
Anyway, enough ranting. I read two books this month, liked one didn’t like the other one very much. Will talk more about it below. Since It’s Sunday, I felt really lethargic and couldn’t think of writing a really solid blog post, I decided to share my love for three of my most favorite female booktubers ❤ Keep scrolling!
~The Couple Next Door By Shari Lapena~

Following the story of A (Dysfunctional) couple with an even weirder neighborhood, where they go to a party one night, leaving their little baby at home. When they return, the baby is gone. Who could be responsible?
I know it sounds like a typical thriller, and well it is a typical thriller, but trust me when I say that It is chilling and keeps you at the edge of your seat the whole time.
All the characters are, well, unlikable. Which adds to the level of confusion the story brings since almost everyone is suspicious and has a certain darkness to them.
AMAZING plot twits. Especially…(shh)
I had issues with the writing style. Was not a very big fan. It felt immature and sort of dry.
4/5 stars.
~Twenty love poems and a song of Despair by Pablo Neruda~
“Tonight I Can Write
Tonight I can write the saddest lines.
Write, for example, “The night is starry
and the stars are blue and shiver in the distance.”
The night wind revolves in the sky and sings.
Tonight I can write the saddest lines.
I loved her, and sometimes she loved me too.”
It is really disheartening that I DID NOT like this book. Especially since when I opened Goodreads, to look for someone who understood my criticism, I could not find even one single soul.*
The above quotes line belongs to the only poem I felt was..nice. Everything else to me was boring, cheesy and lacking in intimacy? I don’t know. Maybe It just wasn’t for me. I’m looking for other poets to read, recommend some below?
2/5 stars
*Ok maybe just on the first page of it, whatever.

I think She’s new on book tube or maybe It feels so because I recently started watching her but I already love this highly sarcastic and precious human. She is not afraid to speak her mind and that’s something I really appreciate about book bloggers as well as Book Tubers. Beware tho, she might diss your favorite book 🙂

I think I can safely say She’s my favorite because we kind of have similar taste (Yes, She loves Warner as well <3) and also she’s really nice (and pretty) Her videos are extremely aesthetic and creative. She also posts lookbooks for various Characters. She hasn’t been posting for a long time, but I hope she does soon.

I still have to read The Couple Next Door! I live in Belgium and it’s cold here too, I’m always hoping the train isn’t delayed too much because I have a good coat but my fingers and toes are always freezing and it also means I have to wait to read until I’m on the train. I haven’t used the new WP editor yet.. I also choose decline 🙂

Sorry about your book slump. I’ve kind of been in the same place this year, I think mainly because of going back to college and trying to learn how to juggle all that, and day to day stuff…lately my love of reading has been coming back so I’m hopeful. Hope yours does too!

Yes, I know how hectic everthing can be. Sometimes there isn’t a place for reading in our schedule, and that can be annoying af. Hope it continues to get better and you read lots of lovely books 💕
